Often the phrases bush and shrub enjoy very much the same definitions so are commonly chosen interchangeably in order to explain a low woody perennial plant that normally bears a number of stems. Shrubbery or shrubs are frequently the anchors associated with some sort of landscape design. Bushes are available in a variety of dimensions, hues, designs, and sometimes have blooming abilities, and the divergent leaf hues are often absolutely riveting for the eyeball. For example, picture a strip of Diabalo Ninebarks behind a row of Little Henry Sweetspire. The contrast of the lighter vivid green foliage associated with the sweetspire in contrast to the Diabalo Ninebark darker colors is awesome. As there are so many purposes and so many diverse blends for shrubs and bushes, the decision ends up being yours concerning exactly what variants you would like to grow.

Shrubs delivers four-season natural beauty to the landscape designs. Certain shrubs feature stunning fall colorings; quite a few present you with extremely colorful stems and branches for the purpose of forming a contrast to the winter snow. Various other shrubbery offer early spring blooms which appear to flow like a water fountain while others
provide you with summer privacy not to mention eye-catching foliage. Evergreen bushes can offer a welcoming appearance to an entrance way or private drive. The vast majority of shrubs are easy to maintain and will continue to be appealing for many years with minimum time and effort.

In other words, You’ll be able to enjoy these stunning blue-purple blossoms all summer long even into early fall. Click on the flower for a better view.

The clematis Franziska Maria TM is easy to grow. It has a tuberous root so can adapt very readily to a wide variety of soil. As long as its root is kept moist but well drained and the plant is in full sun, it will bloom contentedly.

As it grows at a moderate speed, it will take some time to achieve maturity. However, when mature, this clematis can be anywhere from 60 to 72 inches high and likes to spread. That is why the bulbs must be planted 36 inches apart but only 1 inch deep.

So if you live in zones 4 to 8, you can plant a Franziska Maria TM or two in your yard and listen to your neighbors oooh and ahhh all summer long as they admire its gorgeous blossoms set in a sea of green foliage. You’ll be the envy of the neighborhood.

The beauty of these spring flower bulbs is that you can find some that grow very well in shade, others who grow better in direct sunlight and those who thrive best in part shade. Again, some grow tall, some have a medium stem while others produce short plants and the color combinations are endless. The choice is endless.

All bulbs, including the spring flower bulb must be planted in well-drained soils for best results because if set in water or too much dampness, they will rot. Therefore if you have heavy soils, you should mix it with organic materials to help your bulbs grow uniformly and repeatedly.

Flower bulbs can be planted outside or inside; as a matter of fact, spring flower bulbs are very popular for indoor growth. The nice things about bulbs is that in most cases they will grow well and produce beautiful flowers over and over again in a rather short period of time no matter where they are planted. They are great for they can be enjoyed year round in just about any type of climate. Just at Nature Hills alone you can choose from over 300 types of summer flowering bulbs, so click on the summer flower bulbs link and spend some time enjoying their beauty and uniqueness.

Also known as Thuja occidentalis “bobazam”, Mr. Bowling Ball’s dense fine-textured foliage changes from dark green to sage green in the fall when it resembles that of a fine-textured juniper or false cypress.

This arborvitae prefers well drained soil but can take full sun to partial shade. Because of its round shape, this shrub would fit any landscape design but is at its best when planted near a pond in mass plantings or as a border!

So if you’re looking for a small round shrub that can provide color year round and that keeps its shape and if your area is anywhere from zone 3 to 7, you may want to consider using the arborvitae, Mr. Bowling Ball ( a good conversational topic, don’t you think?)

You will find it and many other small shrubs under the title “Live Small Shrubs” under the Plants Menu.

A cross between the beautiful Tiffany and Jersey Beauty, it is a double, true pink, high centered rose which will keep blooming in continuous flushes of blooms as soon as the weather is warm enough in the spring till fall. All you need do is to remove the old blooms as soon as possible to make way for the new.

Not only is this rose beautiful but being very disease tolerant, it has so few problems with disease that it rarely needs to be sprayed. As a result you can put your fungicide spray aside and simply breathe in the clean, rich delightful fragrance which is quite distinctive.

This rose which grows in a hybrid tea style can be anywhere from 3 to 4 feet high by 2 to 3 feet wide when mature. Like any rose, it performs best in soil which drains well, but unlike many other roses, it requires only an average amount of moisture, and can grow in full sun or partial sun.

This hybrid tea rose would fit extremely well in any landscape and will even bloom in soil which is highly alkaline. Rosa “Belinda”s Dream” is an outstanding reliable performer which is sure to bring many hours of joy to the rose lover.
